ALBUM REVIEW: Heyrocco ‘Waiting On Cool’

_MG_9799 In the heart of Charleston, South Carolina lies the home of alternative rock band, Heyrocco. Let me tell you—they’ve got one of the most versatile sounds that could land them anywhere on the map, South Carolina just happens to be lucky enough to have them. They recently released their highly anticipated EP, Waiting On Cool, and it seems that the title is just what we’ve all been doing.

One listen to the EP and you can just feel the passion and emotion oozing out of it. This band has one of the most raw, gritty, sounds, yet they combine it with these catchy pop hooks in “It’s Always Something New”, and it makes for one great listening experience. Each song throughout this EP takes different turn, showcasing the band’s full ability to stand out.

The way “Build It Up” kicked in with the guitar, it seemed almost like Weezer had been put on. Blending their guitar driven melodies and their 90s rock influences, there’s a bit of pure rock n’ roll trying to come out.

They might be young, but they know what they’re doing. Give Waiting On Cool a listen and let yourself hear a fresh new approach to alternative rock.
