After 3 years of no new releases by The Killers (besides their annual Christmas singles and greatest hits compilation) frontman Brandon Flowers is set to release his second solo album The Desired Effect on May 18 through Island Records. The first single off the album “Can’t Deny My Love” will be released March 23.
Flowers revealed the dates with a photo of a note on his website which reads: “May 18th, 2015, we will finally achieve The Desired Effect,” the singer wrote. “Ariel and I have been collaborating in the studio, working twogether [sic] in the spirit of conversation, contention and at long last, sweet contrition. No one has yet seen or heard the change. But soon, we all will.”
The Ariel he refers to in the note is producer Ariel Rechtshaid, who’s produced artists such as Vampire Weekend, Charli XCX, Madonna, and Haim.
During The Killers year and a half hiatus in 2010, Flowers released his debut solo album Flamingo, which was received with mixed reviews. Feel free to check it out for yourself.
