LIVE REVIEW: Lights, Seattle, WA

Having played Seattle’s hole-in-the-wall venue, El Corazon, a couple times on previous tour runs, electro-pop rock artist, Lights, upgrades on her Little Machines tour to the Showbox Market. Fans lined up hours before the doors opened in the brisk mid-30 degree weather in hopes of getting to the front row of the standing room. As soon as the doors opened, fans flooded in and filled up the 1,100 person space almost instantly. As soon as Lights stepped on stage, the sea of her adoring fans burst into an uproar. She…

Every good band has a niche to set them apart from the thousands of other musical acts trying to make a name for themselves. OK Go accomplishes this with their fun and upbeat songs that are accompanied with the most creative and impressive music videos that the internet has seen. It all started out with the band’s choreographed dance to their song “A Million Ways” back in 2005. LIVE REVIEW: Magic Man, Seattle, WA

Watching a group of musicians grow together as a band is one of the coolest things to watch in the music industry. LIVE REVIEW: Fitz And The Tantrums, Seattle, WA

It’s not everyday when a band has their music played and promoted across multiple Top 40 and alternative radio stations simultaneously. Fitz And The Tantrums does just this. Fitz and The Tantrums are one of the few neo soul/indie pop-rock outfits that have been able to achieve this sought-after crossover success. Fitz And The Tantrums’ wide reach became apparent as I stood in line to enter the Showbox SoDo in Seattle. Fans ranged from the ages of 6 years old to mid-60s! The sextet hailing from Los Angeles managed to sell out…

LIVE REVIEW: Franz Ferdinand, Seattle, WA

Walking up to the Showbox SoDo in Seattle, a refurbished warehouse in south downtown, you would probably think it was a bit modest for a band of Franz Ferdinand’s status. Although the venue claims to hold 1,500 people, the boxy-one leveled space gives off the vibe of a smaller intimate club, which is enhanced when bands like Franz Ferdinand sell out the venue. And even though you are cramped (more than a usual mosh pit), the upside is that you feel so much closer to the artists and the music….
