As if we couldn’t love the punk rock trio from Oakland, CA any more than we already do, the exclusive “Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk” documentary film is coming to tour through select theaters. The guys of Green Day; Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool, put their minds together to help executive produce the documentary, which follows and explores Northern California’s pivotal role in the evolution of punk rock throughout the 1970’s. With a powerful trailer (Watch below) the documentary stems from the anti-establishment roots that the punk genre rose from, and proves that this film would be a must-see for any music fan.
The documentary also includes a great narration from rock legend Iggy Pop, as the film dedicates all its run time to executing the loud, intense and anti-authoritarian philosophy of music and politics that arose within the punk scene and became a staple of the genre. For a limited time, the documentary will be available in select theaters across the USA to view, spanning dates and cities from California to New York.
