Drummer Tim Cossor has parted ways with HRVRD. You can read a statement from Cossor after the jump.
Sadly, the time has come for me to announce that the upcoming show on April 7th in Charlotte will be my last show with HRVRD. It’s something that’s been in development for a little while now. I think it will be beneficial to everyone for me to step away now and allow these guys to carry on. I love these dudes and will continue to support them in any way I can, just from the other side of the stage.
Now, this was by no means an easy decision to make. I was so afraid of letting people down and making them upset or disappointed. Obviously, it’s tough to walk away from something you’ve invested so much energy, time, and passion in. The relationship parallel is not lost on me. However, there are things that I have to take care of in my life that are just more of a priority to me at this point.
Playing with these guys has been an amazing journey over the last 7 years. I still remember the very first band practice we had in Jason’s dad’s shed. It’s a makeshift studio in the woods and it is, in fact, awesome. I’ve had the luxury of going through most of my 20’s driving in a smelly van named Stella with 4 of my best friends and sleeping on strangers’ floors. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But what really made it special was playing the shows where you guys came out and had fun with us. That’s what the hardest part is now that I think about it. I’ll miss seeing you guys.
Even though I’m no longer drumming, it doesn’t mean that anything else is changing. HRVRD is still touring and supporting a new record. Please continue to support this band. Welcome whoever steps in and know that this is just the beginning of a new chapter. Thanks for all the love and support over the years, everybody. Sorry for rambling. Until April 7th!
