Jeff Kaplan, A Day To Remember’s sound engineer, was tragically struck and killed on the side of the highway in Maryland early Wednesday Morning. Kaplan was 43 years old at the time and died at the scene. You can read an exert from Capital Gazette below the jump.

An Annapolis man was struck and killed on Route 50 early Wednesday morning, causing a portion of the roadway to be shut down for nearly four hours.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. at westbound Route 50 and South Haven Road, west of Interstate 97.
Maryland State Police said 43-year-old Jeffrey A. Kaplan was driving a 2013 Subaru when he lost control and struck the median. Kaplan got out of his vehicle and was standing in the travel portion of the roadway when he was hit by a 1999 Ford sport utility vehicle, driven by 30-year-old Aaron B. Nedd of Hyattsville, police said.
There are no overhead lights on this portion of the highway.
