Katy Perry Is 2014 Radio’s Artist Of The Year

Katy Perry was named radio’s Artist of the Year yesterday. She is the only artist to ever have top spins on three different radio stations. This has been a wild year for Perry. She has been nominated for five AMAs: artist of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album for Prism and Single of the Year for “Dark Horse.” Watch to see if she wins these Sunday on ABC. She also won Best Female Video at the VMAs and Best Video at the EMAs both for “Dark Horse.”

This superstar is currently on her Prismatic Worldwide Tour which is globally successful. She has sold out 17 arenas in the UK, 25 arenas in Australia/New Zealand and 66 arenas in North America. The tour is continuing into 2015 with dates in Europe, Asia and South America where she is sure to sell out every show.

In addition to being the most-played act at Top 40, Hot AC and AC radio, Katy’s single“Dark Horse” (feat. Juicy J) – from her quadruple Platinum albumPRISM (Capitol Records) – was the most-played song of 2014 at Top 40 radio. The track, which has been certified eight-times Platinum, is her ninth single to top the Billboard Hot 100. Katy is the only artist to have scored a No. 1 Hot 100 single in each year of the current decade.
