In celebration of Blink-182’s Enema Of The State 14th anniversary, Mark Hoppus turned to Reddit to give the band’s audience some interesting facts about the albums artwork.
According to Hoppus, the first version of the album cover featured porn star Janine Lindemulder dressed as a nurse with a red cross and a capital ‘B’ on her cap. After three versions of the album cover were tied out, Blink-182 were contacted for potential breach of the Geneva Convention.
“We were then contacted by the Red Cross that, as we are in no way a medical organization (which I would debate. One time I changed a band-aid), we should not have a red cross on our artwork,” Hoppus claimed on Reddit. “If we continued using the red cross logo, we would be in violation of the Geneva Convention. (for real.)”
