No Sleep Records have signed Long Lost, Joe B of Transit’s side project. A debut full-length is expected in early 2013. Check out more information below.
No Sleep Records is proud to welcome New England based indie/alternative pop band Long Lost to the label’s eclectic lineup. Long Lost are currently putting the final touches on their debut full-length, Save Yourself, Start Again, which will be released in early 2013.
“We are beyond excited and thankful to be involved with No Sleep, undoubtedly among the most well-respected labels with one of the most diverse rosters in all of music,” says bassist Mike Moschetto. “We couldn’t have asked for a better fit and together we can’t wait to introduce our music!”
“When Joe B first played me the acoustic Long Lost songs at Warped Tour last summer I immediately said yes I want to make this happen,” adds No Sleep Records president Chris Hansen. “So we did thankfully and I could not be more stoked to release the band’s debut LP in 2013.”
Conceived in 2010 as an acoustic side project between Transit vocalist Joe Boynton and guitarist/vocalist Vinny Comeau, the duo began writing songs during lulls in Transit’s touring schedule and even bouncing ideas off of each other remotely over email. By summer 2012, the two had accumulated enough material to recruit a backing band in drummer Aviv Marotz, guitarist Mat Morin and bassist Mike Moschetto, all of whom come from the Boston-based emotive hardcore band Aviator.
The now-full band proceeded to flesh out the songs and promptly entered the studio to record their debut full-length, Save Yourself, Start Again. Co-produced by Gary Cioffi, Jr. (Transit, Misser) and the band, the record displays a range of styles and moods, from upbeat powerpop to solemn folk – all tied together by Long Lost’s signature dual-vocal approach and versatile rhythm section.
