Following Pete Wentz’s tweet about an upcoming announcement, Wentz announced the relaunch of record label as DCD2 Records. This new name is the next chapter for his label previously called Decaydance Records. LOLO (featured on Panic! At The Disco’s “Miss Jackson”) and New Politics (opening for Fall Out Boy and Paramore on Monumentour) are the first bands signed to this new label. You can check out more information on the label here. See Wentz’s full statement after the jump.
You can buy concert tickets here for the Monumentour.
“The idea behind the label originally was a gang, something that would be us versus the world… I took a few years off the same time the band did but I didn’t stop listening to new music… I always felt like it was my responsibility to nurture and magnify the profile of other artists… Today we begin doing that again. Today I want to announce DCD2- this is the next chapter, the renaissance, and I’d like to welcome New Politics and LOLO to the family. I feel like I have more time to devote to this again and the state of music is so exciting right now. Though we are launching this independently, we are open to working with people who are dedicated, passionate and interested in finding new ways to operate. Stay tuned for more announcements coming soon.
Welcome to decade 2. DCD2.
