PHOTOS: Linkin Park at Guitar Center’s RockWalk Induction

Linkin Park is now the most recent band to be inducted into Guitar Center’s RockWalk. Since their first album Hybrid Theory was released in 2000, they’ve reached great heights within the world of music by having mixed in rock, hip-hop, and electronic sound. Throughout the years they have proved successful; time and time again.

You can’t deny that this band ground-breaking. Hybrid Theory sold over 18 million copies, and is actually the bestselling debut album of the 21st century. They are the first and only band to reach five consecutive number one album debuts on the Billboard 200, and have 6 Grammy nominations. With 63 million likes and counting, they are also the biggest band on Facebook. Talk about mind blowing! But it doesn’t stop there: Linkin Park started Music for Relief, an organization dedicated to helping victims of natural disasters. They’ve raised over 6 million dollars for the survivors of Hurricane Katrina, the Haiti and Japan earthquakes in 2010, the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, and typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The band continues to bring in success and remain influential. They have now released their new album, The Hunting Party and will also be touring this summer alongside Thirty Seconds To Mars and AFI.

Linkin Park had a fitting introduction by Stryker, from the one and only KROQ. After showing their gratitude the band preceded the make history in the black cement. With 6 members, there was only room for one hand print of each. Once they washed their hands the musicians came back for a Q&A in which they discussed touring, music making, and the long term goals they achieved. Each band member participated with ease, and really seemed down to earth – even cracking jokes every chance they got. The warm and friendly atmosphere proved to make a memorable experience for anyone who was listening.
