Ray Manzarek (The Doors) Passes Away

2013RayManzarekPA-14333297210513Ray Manzarek, founding member and keyboardist of The Doors passed away Monday evening of bile duct cancer. He was 74. The Doors have influenced many popular rock musicians today. See what they had to say after the jump.

Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day tweeted “#thankyouraymanzarek #thedoors #breakonthrough

Slash of Guns N’ Roses wrote “The Doors represent the LA sound to me. It was the 1st band I remember hearing when I came from England; “Light my fire,” I’ll never forget.”
