Parachute’s newest single, “Crave” from what I’m assuming will be their next album just dropped today, and it’s…different. By different I mean wonderful fantastic and amazing, but not what you would expect from them. It’s straight R&B. I feel like Overnight should have prepared me for this. It was poppier and less indie than their previous releases, but I always thought that being in Nashville they’d go back to a more country sound. I was so wrong. With gospel backing vocals and lead singer Wil Anderson slipping into his falsetto for bits of the chorus, it’s easier to compare this to “Jealous” by Nick Jonas or anything by Justin Timberlake than all of Parachute’s previous albums. The song is amazing and I can’t wait to see it live, but you’ve never heard Parachute do this before. R&B indie rock band? Yes please.
