This week the fans got what they wanted when the band released a new single titled “Love Love Love Love Love” on Soundcloud. The song strays from their acoustic-punk origins, with a slower paced Burbon Street-esque folk-blues style, yet it still carries the same amount of passion that they’ve had for 35 years, with Gordon Gano’s nasaly/angsty vocals and Brian Ritchie’s strong and distinct bass-lines.

The song is the lead single off of their new EP, which is to be released for Record Store Day on April 18 as a limited edition 12″ vinyl.

The Violent Femmes have recently made a comeback into the contemporary music scene, making appearances at Coachella, Riot Fest, and Shaky Knees Music Festival. They have recently announced a U.S. summer tour with The Barenaked Ladies, with performances in June and July across the country.
