STREAM: Night Verses “Panic And Pull Your Heart Out”

Night Verses released a new song titled “Panic And Pull Your Heart.” The track is off the band’s upcoming Graphic Nature Records release, Into The Vanishing Light. The ambient song sees the band letting go of their post-hardcore edge and focusing on more purposeful, alternative rock songwriting. The track is about overcoming one’s thoughts of self-pity. “Burning bones, we bathe in fire underneath the city streets,” vocalist Doug Robinson sings. Check out the song for yourself, and let us know what you think of it in the comments section. To…

Despite forming just over a year ago, the band sound like they’ve been creating music together for years. The song alternates between raspy ad melodic vocals that flow perfectly with the song’s instrumentals. Drawing influences from Drawing influences from Motion City Soundtrack and Jimmy Eat World, the Table Talk have their own charm to their music that…

GUEST BLOG: The Struggle Is Worth The Payoff

Being in a band and being on the road is a mix of both intense highs full of reward and long days and nights of hard work, boredom, and sacrifice. The highs are undeniable releases of expression and satisfaction along with a serious camaraderie with your bandmates as well as the audience that you start to crave when you go too long without it.  The sacrifice is one of comfort, familiarity, the company of your family, cleanliness, and if you’re like me, the personal belongings that I will lose despite…

MY FIRST TIME: Jeremy Weiss (Owner – CI Records, Founder – LAUNCH Music Conference)

In our latest edition of My First Time, Jeremy Weiss (Owner of CI Records and Founder of the LAUNCH Music Conference) was kind enough to talk to Infectious Mag all about how he first started LAUNCH seven years ago and built it into the smashing success that it is today. The first LAUNCH Music Conference & Festival was conceived of in 2008, while participating as a panelist at a conference in Delaware.  My good friend and colleague, Rick Gadd, and I were chatting about how great a similar event would…

WATCH: The Notionaries “Excited Eyes” Music Video

The Notionaries are a band straight out of the middle of the United States, not that you would know that from their sound. Where you would expect to find banjos and lilting vocals (that is probably the most stereotypical sentence I have ever typed) you will instead hear synthetic 80s pop instrumentals under an almost Young The Giant vocal. Though this is only their first single, having formed less than a year ago, they already know the lyrical path they want to follow. In another shocking turn of events, it…

GUEST BLOG: 5 Things To Know Before Playing Your First SXSW

  1. Pack appropriate clothing! It’s all well and good wanting to look like cool guys but when you land in Austin to 75° in a pair of doc martens and black jeans with three jackets to avoid more luggage charges, you will regret it! Coming from Scotland, where I’m almost certain it has never been that warm ever, I was caught out wearing too much and looking the opposite of cool. 2. Plan your itinerary meticulously. If there are bands you really want to see when you’re at SXSW – and…

PLAYLIST: “It’s All About Vibe”

Vibe, to me, is the most intimate element of a song and recording. It is that X factor that either exists and oozes through a track or is nowhere to be found. Vibe is the element that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight and gives chills down my spine. Vibe is effortless, magical and most often timeless. Vibe is energy. It is that element that makes you feel the breath of the singer in your ears and allows you to almost visualize the body language of…
