The concert allowed a younger generation of supporters to join by offering tickets as low as $28. Some of our favorites were there to perform, Tegan and Sara, Imagine Dragons and The Fray. Paul McCartney, U2, Bruce Springsteen Join Call For Pussy Riot’s Prison Release

Paul McCartney, U2 and Bruce Springsteen are the latest to add their names to an open letter with Amnesty International urging for Pussy Riot’s release from Russian prison. Over 100 musicians have joined the call, including Radiohead, Yoko Ono, Madonna and Patti Smith. The letter emphasizes that the effects of Pussy Riot’s “shockingly unjust trial and imprisonment has spread far and wide, especially among your fellow artists, musicians and citizens around the world.” Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina are still imprisoned in Russia after receiving two-year sentences last year for…
