INTERVIEW: Vada March

Infectious managing editor Joe Ballard recently had the chance to speak with fast-rising New York-based soul singer/songwriter Vada March. In this exclusive interview, Vada speaks candidly about auditioning for American Idol and The Voice, what it’s like competing with a lineup full of metal bands, plans for a brand new EP, and much more. I have to start by saying congratulations on achieving First Place at the audition round for Stand Against Suicide’s Battle of the Bands competition! Can you tell me a little more about the upcoming final in May…

FEATURED ARTIST: StereoKid Interview & More

There are probably many people out there who haven’t heard of StereoKid. I’m not going to say that’s anyone’s fault in particular, there are a lot of bands out there, and one can only learn about so many at a time. But if you have the chance, check out StereoKid. It’s not only cause they’re some of the most laid back and nice guys around, which they are, they’re also incredibly talented. A little about the band: made up of brothers Greg and Dan Neal, and members Roger Lambert, &…

PLAYLIST: “It’s All About Vibe”

Vibe, to me, is the most intimate element of a song and recording. It is that X factor that either exists and oozes through a track or is nowhere to be found. Vibe is the element that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight and gives chills down my spine. Vibe is effortless, magical and most often timeless. Vibe is energy. It is that element that makes you feel the breath of the singer in your ears and allows you to almost visualize the body language of…

ALBUM REVIEW: AWOLNATION ‘Megalithic Symphony’

AWOLNATION has hit the music industry like a glass of water on a hot summer day. With a refreshing style and sound, it’s hard not to notice the artist. Following a very brief introduction (the title track), “Some Sort of Creature” is a fantastic narrative, accompanied by a quick-paced collection of lyrics, with stunning melodies. Despite being so short, it really packs a punch. “Soul Wars” is clever, quick, and sharp. With the “hoo-rah” attitude, along with the vocal melodies at the end, this would be the best song to…
