WATCH: Bad Suns “Transpose” Music Video

As a sophomore in high school I spent every weekend on Sunset Strip watching some friends’ bands play to approximately a 15 person crowd. Since the album was released they have headlined their own tour with a second headlining tour happening soon and played weekend 1 of Coachella (ya know, that kinda big festival that…

Recently many bands have been making music videos about important issues right now. OneRepublic made their “I Lived” music video about cystic fibrosis, Yellowcard centered their music video for “One Bedroom” around the Lord’s Resistance Army. These music videos are both powerful and very moving, however, the songs’ original meanings had nothing to do with these videos. Well yesterday, Bad Suns released their music video for “Salt,” and took these types of music videos to a whole new level. The song itself is about a person going through identity issues….

As the first female-fronted band signed to Rise Records, you could say PVRIS  had something to prove. Well, if they did, they proved it. Female lead singers are frequently compared to Hayley Williams of Paramore. Not so with Lynn Gunn. Gunn has the voice of an R&B singer, more like Rihanna than Williams. Please follow and like us:

PLAYLIST: Growing Up Ari (Ariella)

Hey! My name is Ariella Laichas-Malamud. I have been with Infectious since April and have loved every minute of it. I went through many stages of what I wanted to be when I grew up, but usually writing was involved. Music journalism just seems to fit. I have loved music ever since I can remember. My parents started me on Woody Guthrie and Peter, Paul & Mary before I was even old enough to talk. My music tastes change every day, but my favorite band will always be The Script….

New Politics covered “A-Club” by Vampire Weekend for A.V. Undercover, which is a part of A.V. Club, an entertainment website published by The Onion. A.V.
