Lynyrd Skynyrd Drummer Bob Burns Dies at 64

Friday night, drummer Robert “Bob” Burns passed away in a car accident. He was 64. He was one of the founders of legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1964, and was a member of the band till 1974, when he decided to quit because he wished not to tour anymore. Burns played on Lynyrd Skynyrd’s first two albums 1973’s (Pronounced ‘Lĕh-‘nérd ‘Skin-‘nérd) and 1974’s Second Helping. Transit has been working hard on a follow-up album to 2013’s Young New England. They have officially completed their new album according to the band’s producer, who tweeted “Transit album is done! Off to mix Monday.” This means that the eagerly anticipated album will hopefully receive an official release date soon, hopefully some time this fall.
