STREAM: American Killers, “There Will Be Blood”

Sacramento, CA rock band American Killers have released a new single. Following the release of their EP, Young Blood, the guys have dropped “There Will Be Blood.”  From the jump, an interesting bass line and build up grab you in. A killer guitar solo adds some action to the song as well. The thrashing, energetic feel recalls 80’s rock and roll, and is a fun listen. Check it out after the jump! ALBUM REVIEW: Nervous ‘Decode’

A great many talented individuals have come from of Boston throughout history — New Kids on the Block, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (and his brother Casey, of course), Aerosmith, Dropkick Murphys, Captain America himself (Chris Evans), Godsmack… the list goes on and on! Needless to say, when I listened to the debut album Decode from Boston-based band Nervous, my expectations were possibly a little higher than they should have been. I wasn’t entirely disappointed. The 9-track Decode is more or less an intriguing one. With vocals that, at times,…

ALBUM REVIEW: Adam Reczek ‘In the Night, For The Morning’

When you start listening to Andover, Massachusetts native Adam Reczek’s newest album In the Night, for the Morning, there will be something about his music that you’ll absolutely love… but you just won’t be able to put your finger on what it is exactly that keeps you listening. It might be his vocals that are at times wonderfully deep, or possibly the guitar twangs that embody the “folk” genre alongside magnificent electric guitar solos, reminding listeners that “rock” is also part of his sound. Or maybe it’s the overall retro…

ALBUM REVIEW: The Y Axes ‘Sunglasses & Solar Flares’

Imagine approaching a venue of your local music scene. You can vaguely hear the band start to play as you approach the building, music slightly muted before you first open the door and walk towards the stage. That right there is essentially the introduction from San Francisco-based quartet The Y Axes’ new album Sunglasses & Solar Flares. The Y Axes describe their music as “drawing influence from a myriad era of popular and esoteric music to craft a fun original style” and I couldn’t agree more. This female-led indie pop…

Where Can You Discover New Music?

One of my favorite things these days is discovering new music (and, of course, writing about it). Whether it is something shared on Facebook, stumbled upon on Tumblr, a band I tracked down that is supposed to be similar to one I already love, or even music I’ve been introduced to here on Infectious Magazine, there is no way to properly put into words my obsession with finding new music to listen to and adore. There are many well-known websites out there today that can aid in the search for…

ALBUM REVIEW: Fine Fine Titans ‘Omega’

There’s no denying that the music industry (and pretty much every other industry these days) can sometimes seem predominantly male. But then little rays of light shine through and remind us that women are moving up the ladder and absolutely kicking ass in the process. Case in point: post-harcore band Fine Fine Titans, hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Female-fronted by Jennifer Bartlett, she proves she can rock with the best of them, especially on Fine Fine Titans’ newest album, Omega, out April 8th. With a range of vocals – from…
