WATCH: Bad Suns “Transpose” Music Video

As a sophomore in high school I spent every weekend on Sunset Strip watching some friends’ bands play to approximately a 15 person crowd. One of these bands became Bad Suns and they’ve come a long way. Even before releasing their debut album, Language and Perspective, they opened for The 1975 on their North American tour and were on Conan O’Brien. Since the album was released they have headlined their own tour with a second headlining tour happening soon and played weekend 1 of Coachella (ya know, that kinda big festival that…

WATCH: Bad Suns’ Powerful Music Video For “Salt”

Recently many bands have been making music videos about important issues right now. OneRepublic made their “I Lived” music video about cystic fibrosis, Yellowcard centered their music video for “One Bedroom” around the Lord’s Resistance Army. These music videos are both powerful and very moving, however, the songs’ original meanings had nothing to do with these videos. Robin Williams Dead From Apparent Suicide At 63, Musicians’ Reactions

Robin Williams died yesterday, August 11. His publicist revealed that he had been battling severe depression as of late and it just became too much. It seems as though he died of suicide by asphyxiation. His widow released a statement saying:   This morning I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope…

ALBUM REVIEW: Bad Suns ‘Language And Perspective’

I first saw Bad Suns perform in a recording studio when they were still in high school. It was in a studio no larger than a small apartment, and I still have one of the early versions of “Transpose,” on my iTunes. While the lyrics haven’t changed, I can hear a far greater maturity and technical control on the album version. However, one thing has not changed. Christo Bowman, the frontman, still has a very unmistakable voice. His raspy, almost nasal tone can go effortlessly into falsetto, as in the 7th track on…
