ALBUM REVIEW: Red House Glory ‘Fever’ Live EP

I won’t lie; I’m normally a bit hesitant to listen to anything a band does live before I’ve ever heard their recorded material. A band’s live performance can be a deal-breaker—you’ll either walk away loving and appreciating the band for their talent, or never understand the appeal. However, Red House Glory’s Fever Live EP does an excellent job of displaying their talent, both lyrically and musically, and has me walking away loving the songs, appreciating the skill of the performers, and feeling like a fan. ALBUM REVIEW: NGHBRS ‘Twenty One Rooms’

Summer is always an incredibly busy season for music, which makes it a busy time for those of us who review albums. In the last month or so, I have listened to countless albums, most of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. As I pressed play on NGHBRS’ Twenty One Rooms, I was ready to see where this fell in my summer soundtrack. Not surprisingly, I found myself enamored with the album; fascinated by it’s almost vintage sound, and the way it created a hot, dank, quiet summer-night drive in my…

ALBUM REVIEW: The Story So Far, Stick To Your Guns Split

When I saw that The Story So Far would be doing a split with Stick To Your Guns, the first thought that ran through my head was, “How on Earth is that going to work?” I no longer wonder that, because after listening to the split, while I have no explanation as to how, I will assure you, it does. The split starts off with The Story So Far and their song “Clairvoyant,” which features soft guitar, a beautiful melody, and eloquently delivered lyrics. It’s bittersweet with the gentle strums…

ALBUM REVIEW: Count To Four ‘Between Two Cities’

The album kicks off with the energetic “I Hope Not,” which displays the very familiar scenario of waiting to tell someone how you feel. However, Count to Four takes a fresh approach. Rather than a slow, romantic ballad, they’ve created an up-tempo declaration, which is the perfect way to begin an album. Please follow and like us:

Album Review: Stellar Young ‘Everything At Once’

When listening to an artist for the first time, there is a certain hesitance that follows close behind. Is it what you expected? Is it a surprise? Is it charming or cheeky, or does it impose a certain satirical edge? Then that music begins and suddenly, every question melts away and all that’s left is art, which is what Stellar Young’s new album Everything At Once certainly is. Please follow and like us:

Album Review: TRC “The Story So Far”

The “hardcore” genre is one that many have described as one with an acquired taste. I define it more as “either you love it, and you’ll always love it, or you hate it, but you respect the effort.” When listening to TRC’s latest release The Story So Far, it’s difficult not to be intrigued, if not fascinated with the genre’s ambiguity. From the get-go, TRC manages to jump right into their listeners face (and eardrums), but in a way that leaves you wanting more. “#TEAMUK” is a nationalistic track with…
