The 1975’s New Album is Under Way

Rising U.K. indie-rockers The 1975, have already made multiple promises about a new album sometime soon. In 2014 they said they’d have an album out in autumn of 2015, though more recently they said they’re shooting for sometime in early 2016. Today listeners were given a glimmer of hope that their album is coming as guitarist and vocalist for the band Matthew Healey posted on Instagram a Polaroid photo of a studio mixing board with the caption “Sometime in April. Making second record”. You can post out below! The new…

WATCH: The Notionaries “Excited Eyes” Music Video

The Notionaries are a band straight out of the middle of the United States, not that you would know that from their sound. Where you would expect to find banjos and lilting vocals (that is probably the most stereotypical sentence I have ever typed) you will instead hear synthetic 80s pop instrumentals under an almost Young The Giant vocal. Though this is only their first single, having formed less than a year ago, they already know the lyrical path they want to follow. In another shocking turn of events, it…

STREAM: Darkstar & Hayden Thorpe of Wild Beasts Cover “Temporary Secretary” by Paul McCartney

When I learned that this cover happened, I knew I had to cover it. I don’t really listen to Darkstar or Wild Beasts, but when I saw that they covered what could be Paul McCartney‘s worst track ever, “Temporary Secretary”, I had to see how it turned out. (For those musically adventurous, feel free to listen to McCartney’s original track here.) Hayden Thorpe, singer and instrumentalist of the indie-rock/pop band Wild Beasts joined forces with the electronic music group, Darkstar, and posted the song to Soundcloud two days ago. Keeping with the…

WATCH: Hotel Books “Constant Conclusions” Music Video

Hotel Books have released a music video for their new single “Constant Conclusions.” The track is off the band’s impending album, Run Wild, Young Beauty, that is set to release on April 7 via InVogue Records. Watch the music video below the jump and let us know what you think of it. The powerful, and heart-wrenching video is a spoken-word song that has layers and layers of emotion hidden beneath lyrics and instrumentals. The video shows how hard it is be to express your sadness, anger and grief. The band’a first studio album I’m Almost Happy…

If You Need One, Here’s Another Reason To Go See WALK THE MOON This Tour

Merch tables have lost a lot of their luster since online shopping came into existence. I mean, who wants to spend $60 just because you are physically at the show when you could get the same shirt online for half the price? People still do it, but the novelty is kind of gone. This is where WALK THE MOON’s brilliant idea comes in. For each city on the TALKING IS HARD tour, there will be a different poster. So, say you go to the Portland, OR show (that was totally…

STREAM: Violent Femmes’ New Single “Love Love Love Love Love”

15 Years: That’s how long Violent Femmes fans have been waiting for new material. This week the fans got what they wanted when the band released a new single titled “Love Love Love Love Love” on Soundcloud. The song strays from their acoustic-punk origins, with a slower paced Burbon Street-esque folk-blues style, yet it still carries the same amount of passion that they’ve had for 35 years, with Gordon Gano’s nasaly/angsty vocals and Brian Ritchie’s strong and distinct bass-lines. The song is the lead single off of their new EP, which…
