When Sleeping With Sirens announced their forthcoming album Gossip, they also dropped their first single “Legends.” The anthemic tune quickly became a fan favorite, leading to a special project and music video for the track. Fans were asked to submit photos, videos, or other pieces of art that illustrate the song’s message, and the results are shared throughout the well-shot clip. Up on Youtube is a 1981 Dutch documentary called Surfpunks. The movie chronicles the early west coast punk scene and includes interviews with many of the people who lived through it. It also features live footage from bands like Suicidal Tendencies and other local legends. Perhaps the most interesting part of Surfpunks is the history and stories about punk pioneers, the Germs. The massive, multi-city festival tour known as Riot Fest is coming to Toronto and Denver this year following its first stint in Chicago. The festival arrives in Toronto for August 24-25 and includes the talents of the reunited 80’s legends The Replacements as well as Iggy and The Stooges, Mayday Parade, Pierce the Veil, and many others.
