Twenty-three-year-old songwriter/film composer/guitarist Sulene, hailing from South Africa (currently living in New York), recently released her debut album Holding Words Back, a four-song EP influenced by the likes of Paramore, The Dear Hunter, The Wonder Years, Radiohead, and Muse. Paul McCartney, U2 and Bruce Springsteen are the latest to add their names to an open letter with Amnesty International urging for Pussy Riot’s release from Russian prison. Over 100 musicians have joined the call, including Radiohead, Yoko Ono, Madonna and Patti Smith.
