STREAM: I Declare War “We Wait”

I Declare War released a heavy, new song titled “We Wait.” The track is off the band’s upcoming album Songs For The Sick, which is set to release this fall. “I am the sickness, I am the cure, I control the light inside my heart,” vocalist Jamie Hanks screams. Although the song doesn’t sound too different from anything the band have released, to date, there is still something missing. Although catchy, it seems like the band built up the album so much that this isn’t as refreshing as what listeners expected to hear….

Stream A-Tran’s New Single “Can’t Wait”

Infectious Magazine’s own Amanda Tran, known by her stage name as A-Tran, has released her next single for upcoming EP Back Of My Mind. The song is titled “Can’t Wait”, and has been teased quite enough to stir curiosity in the final result. The song has heavy Alternative influence and features a complex instrumental background. “Can’t Wait” is quite catchy but also has a presence of collected calmness until it reaches the end of the chorus. A-Tran is a Seattle-based photographer for Infectious Magazine, and her new EP drops May,…

WATCH: Eddie Vedder Rocks with The Sonics at Record Store Day Show

To me there’s nothing better than a small show. Sure, the communal good vibes of music festivals can make music a magical experience, but there’s something about the intimacy of a small venue that just gets me. Maybe it’s the ability to watch the artist up close and personal, and see them so invested in their performance. Maybe it’s that I don’t have to deal with hundreds to thousands of people. Either way, it’s great. Seattleites were in for a treat yesterday when legendary garage-rock band The Sonics played at…

LIVE REVIEW: Lights, Seattle, WA

Having played Seattle’s hole-in-the-wall venue, El Corazon, a couple times on previous tour runs, electro-pop rock artist, Lights, upgrades on her Little Machines tour to the Showbox Market. Fans lined up hours before the doors opened in the brisk mid-30 degree weather in hopes of getting to the front row of the standing room. As soon as the doors opened, fans flooded in and filled up the 1,100 person space almost instantly. As soon as Lights stepped on stage, the sea of her adoring fans burst into an uproar. She…

LIVE REVIEW: Magic Man, Seattle, WA

Watching a group of musicians grow together as a band is one of the coolest things to watch in the music industry. From playing tiny local shows, opening for rad bands, and playing your own sold out headlining tour shows – the journey is just as fun and rewarding for the band as it is for the fans. Originating from Boston, Magic Man (not to be confused with the hit single by classic rock band, Heart) is a five-piece indie alt-pop group that has gone through these transitions as gracefully…

Woman With Measles Attends Kings Of Leon Concert

A young Seattle woman’s schedule has been posted online by the Washington State Department of Health after she came down with a case of measles. The woman, whose identity is being withheld, did not realize she had the virus when she attended a Kings of Leon concert at Key Arena. Measles are highly contagious, but many Americans are vaccinated against them in childhood. Nevertheless, NPR cautioned: “This story isn’t over. It takes one week to 17 days after exposure to become ill, so people who were at the Key Arena for that…

SHOW REVIEW & FAN PHOTOS: Twenty One Pilots, Seattle, WA

Experiencing a band for the first time live can sometimes make or break your opinion of them. Some bands are clearly overproduced in the studio to the point where they cannot reproduce their sound live, and others will shine and sound even better than any recording could ever capture. The latter could not be truer of Twenty One Pilots, the super dynamic piano pop-rock-rap duo of Columbus, Ohio. Please follow and like us:
