WATCH: This Century “Soul Sucker” Music Video

This Century has released a brand new music video for their song “Soul Sucker,” the first single off of their upcoming album with the same name. The video is quite simple – front man Joel Kanitz sings the lyrics  while trying to force his way through an ever-growing group of painted hands and arms. The shots switch between normal lighting and black light, and Kanitz ultimately gives up on reaching whatever was beyond the blockades. Check out the video after the jump and let us know your thoughts on the video and song…

ALBUM REVIEW: The Technicolors – ‘Ultraviolet Disguise’ EP

There is a certain charm to bands whose music feels just a little bit out of their time, and that is exactly what Phoenix-based rock band, The Technicolors, managed to do in their five-track EP, Ultraviolet Disguise. The band weren’t so much trying to bring one specific sound to the release but instead pulled from a diverse array of influences both past and present to create something that sounds old while still having a feeling of newness. The result, which claims influence from the New Millennium’s garage rock scene and…

INTERVIEW: Sean Silverman of This Century

I got a chance to sit down with the lively and adorable Sean Silverman of This Century. Donning a perfect Arizona bollo tie and obviously excited to play in his home town, he is very intelectual for his age. This Centruy was originally on a major label for their first album and has recently moved to an independent company to produced their sophomore album. With international fame, it is a wonder how these boys can stay so grounded. Honest music, according to Sean, is something that he truly strives for….

SHOW REVIEW: Art of Tour – Gainesville, Florida

Throughout the month of March, We The Kings, This Century, and Crash The Party set out on a month-long, East Coast tour, aptly called The Art of Tour. The tour began and ended in Florida, and I was able to catch one of the last dates, in a city fairly close to WTK’s hometown of Bradenton. The Art of Tour rolled through Gainesville on Friday, March 28. While the weather was everything short of cooperative, the crowd packed into the un-air conditioned venue, most soaking wet and with undeniably excited…

STREAM: The Maine, ARTTM And This Century Side Project’s EP

John O’Callaghan, Eric Halvorsen and Ryan Gose of The Maine, A Rocket To The Moon and This Century respectively have begun a side project called Eagles In Drag. You can stream the band’s EP below, after the jump. John O’Callaghan, the project’s original creator, came up with the idea in 2012 as a way for members of different bands to step outside of their usual projects and come up with new creations while channeling their “inner weirdness.” He chose friends he’d never made music with before as a way for…
