10 Year Anniversary Tour Coming For Cute Is What We Aim For

2006 was a much simpler time, where pop punk was king and we all loved the fad of skinny jeans, eyeliner and going absolutely everywhere with straightened bangs and our favorite music playing. The year of 2006 also marked the release of one of the most iconic albums from Cute Is What We Aim For, Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch. Tour Alert: Arkells Embark On Post-SXSW Tour

There’s something magical that happens when seeing a band live for the first time. For the average fan, seeing an artist perform live has the ability to either a) totally turn them off if the band is terrible or b) suck them into the music even more than before, because the live show is that memorable. Thankfully, seeing the Arkells perform at last week’s SXSW proved to be the latter. Never have I seen a band perform with such high-intensity and infectious energy. STREAM: Violent Femmes’ New Single “Love Love Love Love Love”

15 Years: That’s how long Violent Femmes fans have been waiting for new material. This week the fans got what they wanted when the band released a new single titled “Love Love Love Love Love” on Soundcloud. The song strays from their acoustic-punk origins, with a slower paced Burbon Street-esque folk-blues style, yet it still carries the same amount of passion that they’ve had for 35 years, with Gordon Gano’s nasaly/angsty vocals and Brian Ritchie’s strong and distinct bass-lines.
