The Killers Apologize To Green Day In New Song

391494_10151103428000695_44770697_nDuring a gig in Wembley Stadium this weekend, The Killers performed “The Wembley Song,” a track that paid tribute to many bands, but also apologized to Green Day for past remarks about American Idiot.

They sing, “The Boss, The Stones, the man in black, that bitch is back and Fleetwood Mac, Take That, Bon Jovi, Green Day I said some shit-but that was the old me.”

In 2006, The Killers member Brandon Flowers stated, “You have Green Day and ‘American Idiot’. Where do they film their DVD? In England. A bunch of kids screaming ‘I don’t want to be an American idiot’ I saw it as a very negative thing towards Americans. It really lit a fire in me.”
