STREAM: The Orphan The Poet “Terrible Things”

the orphan the poetAlternative rock band, The Orphan The Poet are releasing an EP titled Terrible Things on June 3rd. In anticipation of the release, the band are streaming the EP’s first single, and title track, “Terrible Things.”

The song, which sounds like a mixture of Mayday Parade, Atreyu, and Weezer, is a catchy punch-to-the-gut that talks about getting too caught up in our own personal nightmares.

“I’ve got these terrible dreams where I do terrible things, and I don’t want to believe, no I don’t want to believe it’s you,” sings frontman David Eselgroth layered over poppy, alternative instrumentals and fast-paced melodies.

Based out of Dayton, Ohio, the band have toured alongside Dance Gavin Dance, Conditions, and I The Mighty. This summer, the band have a handful of tour dates with Cardboard Kids. To check them out live, you can buy concert tickets here.
