To me there’s nothing better than a small show. Sure, the communal good vibes of music festivals can make music a magical experience, but there’s something about the intimacy of a small venue that just gets me. Maybe it’s the ability to watch the artist up close and personal, and see them so invested in their performance. Maybe it’s that I don’t have to deal with hundreds to thousands of people. Either way, it’s great.
Seattleites were in for a treat yesterday when legendary garage-rock band The Sonics played at Easy Street Records in West Seattle, and were accompanied by Pearl Jam lead singer and solo artist Eddie Vedder in honor of Record Store Day. Check out the group perform the track “Leaving Here” off of The Sonic’s new album This Is the Sonics below.
