the big ticketThe Big Ticket – For those of you who don’t know, The Big Ticket is one of the biggest alt-rock festivals in Northeast Florida. I attended it for the first time this year, and I am hooked! The lineups are always crazy amazing! Past headliners have included Fall Out Boy and Weezer, and this year, it was Twenty One Pilots. I cannot wait until next December! – Sami Marshall

SoWhat2016_Logo_Trans_1200So What?! Music Fest – So What?!’s (previously South By So What) lineup just gets better and better every year. And from what has been announced so far, this 2016 is going to be incredible. This year, I’ll get to see veterans like New Found Glory, Underoath and Soasin, along with newer acts like Neck Deep, Bayside, and Slaves. I really appreciate how So What!?’s provides intimate, and non-traditional festival experience in the middle-of-nowhere, Texas. – Angela Flores

When the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were revealed as their first headliner, though, I couldn’t believe it. They’re one of very few artists that are left on my musical bucketlist and I’ve loved them ever since I was seven years old. – Nathan Daniel

As a metalcore, post-hardcore and (occasional) pop-punk fan, there is not a better place to be each summer. Nothing has been revealed about the lineup, but it is undoubtedly going to contain bands that appeal to just about any rocker. What is great about Warped is that it offers both killer music and a great atmosphere. It is a welcoming, exciting place to be, and there is rarely a time when you cannot find at least one band you like on any given stage. I could do without heat and sunburns any time of the year, though! – Brooke Daly

Warped Tour. My answer will never change for this one. – Taylor Markarian

Artist Picks

RiotFest-generalheaderRiot Fest – While this festival wasn’t my cup of tea the first few years, focusing on pop punk more than anything else, I feel this year they went through a huge change and added a lot more variety including hiphop, metal, and even country and funk. All set in Douglas Park, this experimental new festival location was the perfect setting and even with all the people they drew, it rarely felt too crowded. Can’t wait for next year’s lineup. – Tim Wilkens, HEMI

SoWhat2016_Logo_Trans_1200The So What?! Music Festival – Particularly because Underoath is returning and I am curious to see how crazy their fans will go. I am kind of glad that I will not be attending. I don’t think anyone wants to see a grown woman behave the way she did at 13. – Gracie Castaneda, Leave The Former

CoachellaCoachella 2016 With no acts yet confirmed the rumours for who may be there are very exiting. Guns n Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Offspring, Eminem, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Blink 182 and Iron Maiden are all on the predicted list. “What a show it would be to see all of those acts in one place!” – Lachlan Grant

– Fyfe Monroe, Young Beautiful In A Hurry
