Taking Back Sunday’s John Nolan has recently unearthed some of old demos from his high school days. The guitarist has posted a whole album worth of music from Gudmunder Bjornsen, the guitarist’s former band that featured Brand New frontman, Jesse Lacey, pre-feud.
Feud? What feud?
Thirteen years ago, both TBS and Brand New were rising acts when Lacey’s girlfriend apparently cheated him with his childhood best friend, Nolan. Like every emo knew how, the two settled their dispute through song. From their, Brand New’s “Seventy Times Seven” was born, with TBS’s “There’s No ‘I’ In Team” being the retort. Various of other comments were made; however, it is now many, many years later and the two Long Island natives still don’t get along. The release of these previously unheard tracks can help bring a glimpse of what could have been. Take a listen below.
So I've decided that instead of trying to make money off of old embarrassing high school memories I'll just hide them somewhere online.
