PRODUCT REVIEW: The Music Box – November
Another month means another glorious Music Box to rant and rave about. This month was a bit different from last. I received less, but the quality was just the same, if not better. You can read about all the goodies I got after the jump.
To subscribe to the Music Box, for only $10 per month, click here. Also, another cool thing they have started doing is offering what they call The Music Envelope. Instead of receiving a box each month filled with CDs, stickers, wristbands, etc., you will receive a 10-14 song compilation CD that includes songs from featured bands and musicians. The Music Envelope is only $5 per month and to subscribe, click here.

Morning Fatty – Resistance (Full length album and sticker): They are a funk/rock/reggae band from Gainesville, Florida. They have played alongside acts such as Dispatch, The Wailers, and Less Than Jake. I personally am not a fan of this genre of music, but I did enjoy the album. They are reminiscent of 311, Sublime, and Less Than Jake. So if you are fans of them, definitely check them out. Even if you aren’t, give them a listen. They are on point with their instrumentals and keep you intrigued throughout each and every song.

Against Grace – Please Don’t Go-EP & sticker: They are a dance rock/ indie pop quartet from Richmond, Virginia. They deliver exactly what you expect from a band in this genre. Their lyrics are fun and catchy and you will definitely find yourself dancing around while listening to this EP. Also, the EP’s title track is featured in a Trojan condom commercial that is played frequently on MTV.

Jane Marczewski – Ocean & Sky EP: She is an indie artist from Lynchburg, Virginia, and her voice is absolutely stunning. Within the first 30 seconds of her EP, you are completely taken over by the grace and beauty she exudes. Her runs are flawless and her lyrics are in your face. While this is another genre I am not too fond of, she makes it very easy to listen to. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear her songs being played around campfires.

Dan Wolff – Old Fashioned Love (Full length album): Dan Wolff is a folk/rock musician from Silver Spring, Maryland. Wolff has a very classic voice –it’s rough and soothing at the same time. The box also included a card for a band called The Muddy Crows, and they are an Americana Rock band fronted by Wolff.

Planes On Paper – The East End Session EP download card: Planes On Paper is an acoustic duo from Washington State. I am an absolute sucker for anything acoustic. I think there’s such a beauty in music with a strong focus on voices and minimal instrumentals. There’s a slight darkness in their music, but that’s what adds to the attraction.

Break Out Day – They are a punk/pop/alternative group from Roslyn, New York. All I received from them was a wristband, but I still checked them out anyways. They remind me off Blink-182 mixed with a little early Sum 41. They are fun and have an old school pop punk feel to them.
