Iconic UK Venue: Cockpit, Leeds To close.

After 20 years of delivering live music, the Cockpit in Leeds, UK has announced its closure. An official announcement was made earlier on the website today. The statement read “It is with great regret that we have to announce the permanent closure of the Cockpit. After 20 great years as an integral pillar of the Leeds music scene we have decided that it is no longer viable to deliver you the level of service you deserve with the building in it’s current condition.” Click here to read the full statement….

Aiden Announces Final Album Release

William from Aiden has announced the release of the band’s new and final album in 2014, via a long Facebook post directly addressing the band’s fans. As Aiden will be releasing the album on their own, they are funding the project by selling some of the band’s memorabilia. “Would you, the fans, help fund an Aiden record?” William asks. “Would you be interested in different packages of limited and one of a kind items from the bands career? New Jersey’s Starland Ballroom Closing Until 2013 Due to Sandy Damages

The effects of Superstorm Sandy have caused New Jersey’s Starland Ballroom to close until the spring. Located in Sayreville, New Jersey the venue’s web-site stated today, that “due to damages the Starland Ballroom sustained as a result of Hurricane Sandy, it is necessary to cancel most scheduled shows at the Sayreville, NJ venue until Spring 2013.” Refunds are available to all ticket holders for up-coming shows.  Artists whose shows have been canceled due to the closure include Yellowcard, Social Distortion, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Clutch and more.  Megadeath’s…
